To Fathers and Husbands; Let us learn to truly love, cherish and honor our wives; by preferring them to ourselves, and putting their needs before our own needs. This is the husband’s role and duty. It is part of our ministry, and happy is he who learns and embraces this truth. This makes for a happy husband because a wife will be happy when she knows that she is loved by her husband, as God intended for her to be. As men, we should be willing to die for and give our lives for our wives and children, without a second thought for our life or safety.
Tell your wife and children every day that you love them. How will they know if we don’t tell them? Let them know we love them with our words; our deeds; and through our sacrifice.
1: Let our words to our wives be gentle, loving, and kind!
2: Let us show our love with deeds, and not sit on our behind. This means we should share the workload in the home, and not treat our wife as nothing more than a slave, a cook, and a dishwasher. Let me say from experience, that nothing says I love you more to your wife than making her breakfast in bed; helping out with the ironing, (It’s not just girl’s work), and sharing the household chores. In this modern age, most mothers also work, in a real job, to help pay the rent or mortgage. They get tired too.
3: Let us say we love our wives with sacrifice: By working hard, by spending time with our children, and by investing time in our marriage and wife. O’, and by the way guys! This is an investment that pays really big dividends because a happy wife and children who know they are loved become our greatest reward, treasure, and admirers.
When we as men do this, we will be worthy of our wife’s respect and love, and God’s respect and blessing on our family.
Let wives also honor and respect their husbands!!! Give him affirmation and let him be a man, in a world that is constantly trying to feminize men.
Men are meant to be men! To provide, to protect, to be strong, and this may come as a surprise to some, but a man is not supposed to have a feminine side. Men were designed by God to be hunter warriors, to provide for their families and defend them with their lives if necessary.
So to wives, I would say; Support and affirm your husband, encourage him, let him know how you appreciate him when he does things for you, tell him he is a blessing from God; and he may just surprise you by becoming the husband you always dreamed of and signed up for.
When times get tough in marriage; and they usually do from time to time; especially when the above principles are not applied and demonstrated in our marriages, let us turn to God and His word for answers, and keep the family together.
Children need their mother and their father, and they don’t do so well when one parent is missing from their lives.
If we make God our center and put Him at the center of our marriage and our life, He is faithful to work with us to keep the family together: He; “Our Father and Creator”; is the glue that holds marriages together; families together, and the universe together. Trust in Him!!! Depend on Him!!! Make Him your anchor in times of trouble, and in the good times.

If you do this, it will be one of the best investments you ever make

Our enemy the devil is roaming around like a roaring lion, seeking those who he can destroy. He loves to destroy families, and we make it easy for him when:
Our thinking is wrong, our attitudes are bad, when we are selfish, when our pride overrides our sense of what is right, and/or when we just don’t have a clue because nobody ever gave us one.
So, let us get a clue, and let us determine to invest in the above resources, our wives, our husbands, our marriages, and our children.
I recently read a statistic on a Christian website; that said divorce amongst Christians is higher by 2-3 % than for non-Christians. I asked myself; How can that be, when we have the word of God and the Holy Spirit to provide us with a higher moral code and to teach us to love as God loves? I guess part of the reason is that the enemy likes to target Christians and bring them down if we allow him to, and possibly because many Christians neglect to read their bibles and/or spend quality time in prayer. When we do this, we treat God like a convenient stranger, and as someone, we only call out to in times of trouble. How do I know this? Because for a while there, I was guilty of treating God in this way; and I had plenty of company. Sadly a great many Christians lose their way, live life carelessly, neglect the power source which is found in God’s Word and Prayer, and then wonder why their world falls apart.
Our enemy Satan maybe like a lion seeking to destroy us, but God has given us a weapon that is a lion killer. Lions are no match for a well-skilled swordsman, and our weapon to defeat this lion is the Word of God; (AKA: The Sword of the Spirit). This mighty weapon can cut our enemy to pieces when we learn to use it, and we learn to use it when we read and study it every day, store it in our hearts, and have it ready to slash, cut, and dice our enemy when he comes tempting.
What did Jesus use to defeat the enemy in the wilderness? He cut him down with “The WORD OF God”, “The Sword of the Spirit.”
